CarGurus is delighted to welcome automotive writer Dan Prosser to our editorial team. Having previously worked with Performance Car, Evo and Autocar, Dan is known for his ability to assess high performance cars at the limit, and deliver a trusted verdict on how they perform. As such, Dan will not only be contributing to CarGurus on a regular basis, but will also be writing articles and presenting videos for our sister website, PistonHeads.
Commenting on the move, Dan said: “What has impressed me most about CarGurus is the scale of its ambition. I couldn’t resist being a part of something that’s aiming so high, both on the editorial side where I’ll be working and in respect of the company as a whole. In addition, as a hopeless petrolhead I have read and contributed to PistonHeads for well over a decade, so I’m delighted to increase my involvement both with written content and video.”
In his role as Contributing Editor, Dan is working alongside Chris Knapman, CarGurus UK Editor, to produce content for the CarGurus UK YouTube channel, as well as for this blog. Here, his writing is showcased alongside other highly respected motoring journalists including Lewis Kingston, Alex Robbins, Vicky Parrott, Dan Trent and David Motton.
Needless to say, we are thrilled to have Dan join the team. You can see some of his work for both CarGurus and PistonHeads below:

Driving Ambition: What It Takes to be a Road Tester
What could be more straightforward than driving a car and telling the reader if it’s any good? Like sandwich making or manning a telephone at a call centre, road testing is one of those vocations that can be reduced to a handful of words without actually losing the essence of it. Thing is, when you start looking at it in more detail, testing cars does become somewhat more involved.
