Skoda Yeti Used Car Video Review

September 4, 2018 by Chris Knapman

Since becoming part of the VW Group empire in 1991, Skoda has been given enough leeway to forge its own path. Nowhere can this be seen more clearly than in the Yeti, a car for which you’ll find no equivalent from Volkswagen, Seat, Audi et al.

Launched in 2009 and then facelifted in 2014, the Skoda Yeti was one of the pioneering cars in the compact crossover class, and instantly won fans thanks to the way it combined family friendly practicality with superb driving dynamics; not that you’d ever guess as much from the boxy looks, but this really is a fun car to drive.

For our CarGurus Used Car Video review we headed to used car supermarket Fords of Winsford where we tracked down a 2015 Yeti and swiftly set about demonstrating just why it’s so highly rated when it comes to versatility. As you’ll see when you watch the video (below), this includes sliding and tilting the rear seats, as well as removing them entirely, at which point you’re left with what is basically a small van.

When you then factor in the Yeti’s low running costs, decent levels of equipment and, in 4x4 guise, its ability to go off-road or tow a small caravan, it’s no surprise it’s been a big hit with UK buyers.

In turn this means there’s a huge supply of used Yetis to choose from, but how do you know what represents good value? That, of course, is where CarGurus comes in. Unlike other used car listings websites, we create an Instant Market Value for every car based on how its price compares with similar models. Our algorithms don’t only factor in the basics such as make, model and age either, but also include mileage, specification, individual options and more to ensure as accurate an evaluation as possible.

Using this data we then rank listings according not to what car is cheapest, but rather what represents the best deal, and also display dealer ratings from the respective dealership’s past customers to give you an idea of the kind of service you can expect to receive. The result, we hope you’ll agree, is a whole new level of transparency to the used car market, giving buyers more confidence than ever before possible.

So, if you can see how a Skoda Yeti could fit into your life, head to CarGurus to begin your search.

With thanks to Fords of Winsford for providing the Skoda Yeti in our video. See their full stock on the CarGurus UK website.
